Owners of non-domestic buildings constructed before the year 2000 are legally required to ensure they manage the risk presented by asbestos appropriately. Although asbestos can be safely managed if it is kept in a good, sealed condition, it still causes thousands of deaths per year. The material becomes dangerous when it is disturbed and releases fibres into the air, therefore asbestos that is in poor condition or likely to be disturbed needs to be properly managed.
Our helpful team is on hand to guide you through the Asbestos Survey process. We aim to make things as simple as possible.
An Asbestos Management Survey helps you locate and manage any Asbestos Containing Materials (ACMs) on your premises. This will help you to ensure that nobody comes to harm through the presence of ACMs in your building, that the ACMs remain in good condition and do not release fibres into the air, and that the ACMs are not disturbed accidentally. If asbestos is found in your property, re-inspections will be required to ensure you are continuing to manage the risk.
This report demonstrates that you have taken reasonable steps to locate any asbestos within your premises.
We can carry out this survey with minimal disruption to your business.
A Refurbishment/Demolition Survey is required when any upgrade, refurbishment or demolishment work needs to take place on a building constructed before the year 2000. Before any work of this nature can take place, all ACMs must be located. Asbestos may be disturbed during this process and this means that the premises will need to close and be certified as fit for occupation again when works are finished.
Carrying out this type of survey is a means of protecting the people working on the building during the upgrades, refurbishment or demolishment.
